Public Hearing on Interim Moratorium on Cannabis

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Goodhue, Minnesota will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, to consider an emergency moratorium on the establishment of new uses or the expansion of existing uses related to sales, testing, manufacturing, distribution, and commercial cultivation of cannabis products.

The Goodhue County Board of Commissioners will be reviewing and discussing a proposal to institute an emergency moratorium through January 1, 2025, for cannabis. The Goodhue County Board of Commissioners upon adoption of any moratorium will undertake a process to study and conduct hearings on amending or adopting official controls relating to cannabis.

The public hearing will be conducted during a special meeting of the Goodhue County Board which will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Cannon Valley Fairgrounds 800 N 9th Street Cannon Falls, MN 55009.

Additionally, interested persons may submit written comments by letter addressed and mailed to Samantha Pierret, Goodhue County Land Use Management, 509 W 5th Street, Red Wing, MN 55066; or dropped off at Goodhue County Land Use Management Monday through Friday during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays; or via email samantha.pierret@goodhuecountymn.gov. All written submissions must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 and will be read into the record during the public hearing, including name and address.
