Registered Nurse/Public Health Nurse
1.0 FTE or .8 FTE Registered Nurse/Public Health Nurse
Manages local Women Infants and Children (WIC), oversees all program functions, monitors compliance with federal regulations, trains staff, assures quality services, and interacts directly with state and regional WIC staff.
- Plans and coordinates WIC program activities, clinic services and nutrition activities. Develops materials and programs as needed. Develop WIC clinic and WIC staff schedules.
- Provide breastfeeding outreach, education, and support.
- Certifies WIC participants and provide ongoing WIC services and nutrition education.
- Assess health and nutrition status of women, infants, and children.
- Obtains, analyzes, and interprets height, weight, and hemoglobin and assigns nutrition risk determination.
- Makes final eligibility/ineligibility determination.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited school of nursing, certification as a public health nurse in Minnesota, licensed as a registered nurse in Minnesota
OR - Associate degree, baccalaureate degree or diploma from a school of nursing accredited by the National League of Nursing and licensed as a Registered nurse in Minnesota.
- One year of experience in public health nursing or related area desired.
- Valid Driver’s License
Rate of Pay
The starting pay is $33.48.
