County 9 & Hwy 56 Safety Improvements

Goodhue County, in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Transportation, is reviewing the Highway 56 and County Road 9 intersection after recent crashes. The County is making the following improvements to County Road 9:
- larger stop signs + "cross traffic does not stop" signs
- STOP AHEAD markings + stop bars
- rumble strips near the intersection added to alert drivers
MnDOT will be clearing vegetation along Highway 56 to improve sight distance.
County and MnDOT staff will be meeting with stakeholders to gather more information, and will evaluate potential short-term and long-term safety improvements to the intersection.
