Roads & Bridges

The primary function of the Highway Division is to provide safe and convenient mobility to the traveling public by efficiently managing the infrastructure of the county road and bridge system. The Construction & Engineering staff provides expertise in the areas of planning, design, and construction of the County highway system. The primary duties of the Road Maintenance Staff include year-round maintenance of the County highway system, with tasks such as:

• Snow removal and ice control
• Patching and crack filling roadways
• Re-grading gravel roads and shoulders
• Mowing and weed control within the County right of way
• Guardrail replacement and repair
• Culvert cleaning, replacement, and repair
• Ditch cleaning and maintenance
• Sign replacement and repair
