Parks & Trails

The Goodhue County Public Works Department maintains and operates Goodhue County’s Byllesby Park, its amenities, and its trails for recreational use. The County also owns approximately 88 acres of forest that constitutes Goodhue County's Nielsen Memorial Preserve. The Preserve is currently undeveloped, though a Master Plan has been adopted for the property. The Public Works Department is responsible for the protection and preservation of land in its natural state, while providing for high quality outdoor natural resource-oriented recreational activities. Additionally, the County owns a small parcel in the northwestern corner of Goodhue County that serves as the Cascade Canoe & Kayak Access.  Hunting is not permitted on Goodhue County park properties.
