The Goodhue County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan was last revised in 2016, and is updated every ten years. This plan outlines policies and programs to manage solid waste in Goodhue County. It provides a detailed description of programs and facilities that are available to manage all kinds of waste, and outlines informational programs to reduce and reuse waste. Plan updates and revisions are approved by the Goodhue County Board of Commissioners and the MPCA.
Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan
The Goodhue County Solid Waste Designation Plan helps support and implement the goals outlined in the 2016 Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan. It outlines a need and process for the County to direct all mixed municipal solid waste to the City of Red Wing’s Resource Recovery Facility. The Solid Waste Designation Plan was approved by the Goodhue County Board of Commissioners and the MPCA.
The Solid Waste Designation Ordinance has been approved by the MPCA and by the Goodhue County Board of Commissioners. The County Board will be discussing the Solid Waste Ordinance adoption and implementation in August 2020.
