Goodhue County Health and Human Services (GCHHS) Healthy Communities unit offers unpaid internships for undergraduate and graduate students in community health, community health education, community health promotion, health and wellness, public health, and related degree programs.
GCHHS is located in Red Wing, Minnesota. Self-motivated and innovative students should apply. Typical internships are 20-40 hours a week for 12 or more weeks (240-480 hours), but may be adjusted to meet school requirements.
Candidates for the Goodhue County Health and Human Services internships must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university requiring the completion of an internship prior to graduation. Candidates must be in pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree such as community health, community health education, community health promotion, health and wellness, public health, or a related degree program. GCHHS internships offer student interns an opportunity to expand on their interests and coursework and receive additional hands-on training from GCHHS professionals to gain quality career experience. The applicant is responsible for ensuring that all application materials are completed and received in a timely manner, generally at least 6-8 weeks before you hope to begin your unpaid internship. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Applicants will be invited to interview with the Healthy Communities Supervisor and offers will be made shortly after.
Interns need to make their own housing arrangements if residing in the community. You will need to make your own arrangements for traveling to and from work. Free parking is available in nearby lots and city streets designated for Goodhue County staff parking.
