County elections manager Micki Otto receives Excellence in Elections award
Goodhue County’s Micki Otto has been honored with the statewide Excellence in Elections Award from the Minnesota Office of the Secretary at the recently held County Election Administration Training Conference. Secretary of State Steve Simon was on hand to personally recognize Micki and election officials from five other counties.
The award honors election workers who demonstrate leadership, collaboration, dedication to the field, innovation, or other noteworthy achievements. Recipients are nominated by their peers. This is only the second year the award has been presented.
Micki oversees elections training, hires temporary election workers, maintains voting equipment, and prepares required county election documents. She also interprets and implements statutory and regulatory changes, coordinating with multiple county departments as well as city and township clerks.
Colleagues note that Micki consistently goes above and beyond to help ensure Goodhue County’s elections are conducted safely, impartially, and efficiently. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!
