New County Website!

Goodhue County is pleased to announce the launch of its new website! 

The Goodhue County Board of Commissioners voted to redesign the website for various reasons. The first was to increase accessibility. The previous website was fraught with ADA compliance issues such as formatting, a lack of color variation, and lacked translation options. Our new website addresses all of these concerns. Additionally, over 60% of our website users are on their mobile devices and this new website better adapts to those screens than our previous one. 

Secondly, the previous website no longer reflected us. In 2018, the website had been previously redesigned but at that point, there was no County-approved branding for a coherent look. This left various pages attempting to stand out but would often appear cluttered. In late 2023, Goodhue County implemented its new branding and we wanted our website to embrace this new branding. 

Third, this redesign will ultimately save the county money. The redesign efforts were funded with the use of one-time American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The yearly payment, as opposed to our previous website, is substantially lower and will save the County roughly $8,000 per year.
