The Goodhue County Recorder's Office reminds residents not to pay for services that require payment to fill out passport applications and provide shipping labels.
Passport applications on the official Department of state website, www.travel.state.gov are FREE to download, print out and bring to an Acceptance Facility to apply for a passport. Acceptance Facilities, including Goodhue County, send in the DS-11 applications and cannot use the shipping labels from these other websites.
It's recommended that members of the public obtain FREE passport application forms using ONLY the national website or the link on the county website or by picking up the forms at the Passport Acceptance Facility, Room 106, Goodhue County Government Center, 509 West 5th Street, Red Wing MN 55066
You must apply in person using Form DS-11 if at least one of the following is true:
If none of the above statements apply to you, you may be eligible to renew using Form DS-82, allowing you to renew by mail and not be charged a processing fee.
Please note: If you are printing your and completing your forms, they must be printed single-sided.
We take passport photos in our office for a $15 fee or you may bring in your own photo. Please refer to the U.S. Department of State website for photo requirements.
