Child & Teen Checkup Resources

Welcome to the Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) program!

The Child and Teen Checkups Program is your connection to preventative healthcare-birth through age 20 years enrolled in Medical Assistance.

Enrollment in C&TC happens when you enroll in Medical Assistance. It is a free service that provides reminders and resources for checkups and dental services.

Even if your child is healthy it’s important to see your provider.  Regular checkups help keep us healthy. At these visits they do a physical exam such as listening to heart and lungs. They also complete a variety of screeners which help to identify and treat problems early. These checkups also monitor growth and development and allow you to discuss any concerns you may have with your provider.

Children get checkups according to age:
•    Between birth and 1 month
•    At ages 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24, and 30 months
•    Every year starting at age 3 through 20 years
•    More often if needed

These checkups are a covered benefit under Medical assistance and are a free preventative service.

Dental services are also free and are a covered under Medical assistance. Dental visits should start when children get their 1st tooth and no later than 12 months.
